COnversations About local Music

SOON TO LAUNCH!
Hometown Flyers is an exploration of local music communities via discussion with their leading practitioners.

We're interested in how music characterizes different places—across all genres and demographics. What’s the relationship between a local culture and its music(s)? The technological connectedness between peoples of the world notwithstanding, there real differences still exist between music in New York vs Los Angeles, Nashville, Austin, etc.

Exploring this notion serves as the starting point for what we hope will be wide-ranging conversations between thoughtful people who happen to be musicians. Interesting talk is the goal, so we won’t be playing tracks and talking about them in standard radio interview format.

We're currently working on our first season, which will focus on the central Virginia scene and will be comprised of interviews with its important players. If the podcast is a success, we hope to examine other musical environments in future seasons.
